Once again, PURPLE PASSION 4 Alzheimer’s will be participating in the Birdies for Children program at the 2013 Honda Classic. Through the Birdies for Children program, we will be able to become more integrated in our community as we continue our mission to raise funds and awareness for the fight against Alzheimer’s. When donors give through the Birdies for Children program, we will receive 100% of the donation, plus a matching 10% from the presenting sponsor.
Birdies for Children allows local charities to team up with The Honda Classic offering their donor base a chance to win a Honda automobile while the charity gets 100% of the proceeds plus a 10% matching donation courtesy of The Honda Classic.
The Honda Classic is an annual PGA Golf Tournament that is held at the PGA National Resort and Spa’s Championship Course in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. This year’s event will be held February 25 through March 3. Last year, Rory McIlroy, at the age of 22, ascended to the No. 1 ranking in the world on Sunday with a two-shot win at the Honda Classic. After three middling rounds, Tiger Woods made a furious charge on Sunday to shoot the lowest final round score of his career with a 62. Woods eagled the final hole to put the pressure on McIlroy as a huge roar went up at PGA National.
